About Teratai Arc
Working With the Grain of Your Organisation
We are a small practice based in Kuala Lumpur. We help Malaysian firms find where AI fits — not where it could theoretically go.

A Practice Founded on Patience
Teratai Arc began with a simple observation: many Malaysian organisations were being told to "adopt AI" before anyone had asked them what they actually needed. The result was often purchased tools that sat unused, or integrations that complicated rather than simplified daily work.
We set out to offer something different — a practice that begins with listening, that measures the current state before proposing any change, and that produces written records at every stage so that decisions can be revisited and understood by anyone in the organisation.
The name Teratai Arc draws from the lotus — a plant that finds its footing in still water before it opens. That cadence felt right for this work. AI integration, done well, is not a sprint; it is a considered unfolding.
Our Mission
Useful Work, Honestly Described
Our mission is to help firms in Malaysia engage with AI tools in ways that are proportionate, well-documented, and genuinely useful to the people doing the work. We do not have targets for upselling, and we do not carry preferred vendor arrangements that might shape our advice.
We work at the intersection of practical operations and AI capability — which means we spend as much time understanding your existing systems, staff workflows, and institutional constraints as we do evaluating technical options.
Our clients are typically firms in finance, education, and professional services, though the nature of the work adapts readily to other sectors where there is thoughtful leadership and a realistic sense of where things stand today.
The People
A Small, Attentive Team
Each engagement is handled by practitioners who have worked in or alongside the sectors they advise. We keep our team size manageable so that clients receive consistent attention.
Siti Norzahra
Lead Practitioner
Has spent a decade working on knowledge systems and operational documentation in Malaysian professional services firms. Leads all Discovery and Stewardship engagements.
Farid Hakim
Integration Engineer
Works on model selection, tool integration, and the technical layer of Concentric Build engagements. Has a background in enterprise software and data pipelines.
Raina Lim
Documentation & Client Relations
Manages written deliverables, client communication, and the production of engagement briefs and handover documents. Previously in financial sector advisory.
How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Written Deliverables at Every Stage
No engagement concludes without a written document that your team can reference independently of us. This is a non-negotiable part of how we work.
Confidentiality as a Starting Point
A written confidentiality agreement is put in place before any information is shared. Client data is never used across engagements or disclosed to third parties.
No Vendor Bias
We do not carry preferred supplier arrangements with AI vendors. Recommendations are made on the basis of fit for your context, not commercial relationship.
Consistent Communication
You are kept informed throughout each engagement. Progress is reported clearly, and scope adjustments are discussed openly before affecting cost or timeline.
Your Team Remains in Charge
We do not make decisions for your organisation. Our role is to inform, document, and support — never to override your people or processes.
Data Handling with Care
We comply with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act and handle all client data with appropriate discretion, limiting access to those directly involved in the engagement.
Our Approach
AI Integration as a Craft, Not a Formula
Teratai Arc approaches AI integration as a practice rather than a product deployment. This distinction shapes everything — how we begin engagements, how we pace the work, and what we consider a satisfactory conclusion.
For many firms, the most useful starting point is a clear written account of where they actually stand with their current systems and processes. Without that foundation, AI tool selection tends to follow marketing claims rather than operational reality. Our Stillwater Discovery engagement is designed to produce that account.
Where a firm is ready to build, our Concentric Build engagement takes a single, well-defined use case through design, integration, and handover within approximately two months. Common applications in Malaysian firms include classification of incoming enquiries, structured drafting for standard client communications, and retrieval across internal knowledge archives — each a measured improvement rather than a wholesale change in how work gets done.
For organisations already working with AI tools, our Outer-layer Stewardship arrangement provides a calm outside voice over a six-month period — attending monthly review meetings, maintaining a shared written log of decisions and observations, and offering light vendor management support. Mid-sized firms in finance, education, and professional services have found this arrangement useful for maintaining perspective without adding internal headcount.
Across all three services, the values are consistent: measured judgement over speed, written records over verbal commitments, and outcomes proportionate to the scale of your operations. These values reflect the sort of organisation Teratai Arc aims to be, as much as the sort of work we do for clients.
